Since the salt industry reform in 2017, facing challenges such as overcapacity and intensified market competition, Jiangxi Salt Group has proactively sought transformation, promoting industrial restructuring and upgrading, and actively extending the salt chemical industry chain. In July 2018, the Group completed and put into operation the first phase of its 1 million-ton-per-year soda ash project, filling a gap in Jiangxi's soda ash industry. Subsequently, the second phase of the soda ash project, as well as projects for sodium bicarbonate and calcium chloride, were successively completed and reached full production capacity. The industrial structure has been continuously optimized, the company's scale has continued to expand, and its risk resistance and market competitiveness have significantly improved. Technological Innovation: A Breakthrough in Green, Low-Carbon, and Circular Development
To address the challenge of treating the diluted calcium sulfate solution generated during soda ash production, Jiangxi Salt Industry Group actively promoted resource utilization by implementing a 55,000-ton-per-year high-strength calcium sulfate project. This project, through a "challenge-based" approach, collaborated with East China University of Science and Technology to tackle key technological challenges, employing an advanced "liquid-phase hydrothermal method" to construct a green, high-value utilization system encompassing salt wastewater treatment, dihydrate calcium sulfate preparation, and a high-strength calcium sulfate production line. Construction began in November 2023, and the main structure is nearing completion. Products were first produced in May of this year, and the project is currently undergoing continuous process optimization and trial production adjustments. With a total investment of approximately 150 million yuan, the project is expected to generate an annual output value of 50 million yuan and a net profit exceeding 10 million yuan upon completion, achieving both economic and social benefits.
Product Innovation Meets Diverse Market Demands
Jiangxi Salt Group, adhering to its vision of "Leading the Salt Industry Development and Creating a Delicious Life," has increased its efforts in new product development. At the beginning of this year, it launched "Cuijing Salt," a new benchmark for purity without added anti-caking agents. In April, it comprehensively upgraded its four major brand product lines: "Qingjiang Guhai," "Jinggang," "Baixian," and "Shanyanfang," launching eight new products to the market, including Qingjiang Guhai ecological deep well salt and Jinggang deep well salt. This has created a comprehensive salt product matrix covering low-end to high-end products vertically and basic healthy salt to functional healthy salt horizontally, gradually optimizing the product structure and aiming to create the group's "second growth curve."
Service Innovation: Cluster Heating Helps Reduce Emissions
To meet the centralized heating needs of enterprises in the Zhangshu Salt Chemical Base, Jinghao Company, a subsidiary of Jiangxi Salt Group, invested 750 million yuan to construct a combined heat and power (CHP) project. Relying on existing facilities and adhering to the principles of "safety, efficiency, intelligence, and integration of old and new," the project constructed three engineering projects: a heating network, boiler units, and a power grid connection system. All three are now in operation and operating stably and efficiently. The commissioning of the centralized heating project has enabled efficient and environmentally friendly centralized heating, significantly reducing pollutant emissions and providing a solid energy guarantee for the salt chemical industry base. Furthermore, Jiangxi Salt Group is actively promoting the comprehensive utilization of brine lithium resources, planning to invest over 80 million yuan to construct a 400-ton-per-year lithium carbonate project, improving the salt production industry chain, enhancing resource added value, and expecting an average annual profit exceeding 10 million yuan.
